We accidentally got lost in our area... and found some sort of jungle...

Good Week!

We are having a fantastic time here in la libertad!  We are just working hard and having a lot of fun doing it.. and the success is coming...  So that is all good!  Elder Loveland is one of my favorite companions in the mission... He just a super great guy... We get along so well it is awesome!  It is so much more fun.

But anyways this week we were able to put to good fechas for baptism for the 16th of August... one with a Person named Angel who is 20 years old... and the other with a kid named Rodrigo who is 13... They are both super great!  Angel is the person that came to church last week and he is super excited to get baptized... he is going to get married the 9th so we are planning his wedding and all that... and then he is going to get baptized the 16th... so that is super great!  And Rodrigo came to church yesterday and we put that goal with him... So that was a great day...

And today we cooked Snikerdoodles... sothat was fun and they were super good!

We got lost at like 8 on saturday night... so we decided to just take some pictures..

Another Picture of us lost.. and a lake that like two minutes away of whe re Im writing.. but it isnt in my area...  but it is cool

La Libertad 2

Well this week I entered into the area la libertad 2, and it is in peten... and well Peten is super hot!  It is like summer time in utah, but humid... for example when I shower in cold water I start to sweat while Im still drying off... so yeah we are always sweaty here... and like in the night, we sleep with fans on us so that we dont completely soak our bed with sweat... It is still hot at night but not sweaty... so yeah that is about the weather of peten...

But  my companion is Elder Loveland... and he is from Orem and he is such a great guy...    He is probably my favorite companion so far...   so i am super excited for this change up here... but the only problem is that the old comp of elder Loveland went to his house this last week to finish his 2 years... so he didnt work to hard and so when I got here we hardly had anything .. but now we some fechas for baptism so we are looking forward to       the work this  change...

But we do have one investigator named  Angel that is ready to get baptised the only problem is htat he isnt married so we are planning on getting him married in these next two weeks and then his baptism... but he is super ready to get baptized... we hadnt talked with him the whole last week so we didnt think that he was going to be going to church but we passed by  for his house to take him to church and his family said that he just left, but the have no idea where he went.. .so we thought that he like went out with friends or something, but when we got to church  he was already there waiting for us!  So we were super happy!  So that is about all that has happened recenty.. but we have good plans fo rthis next week!

These are just some pictures of my area and stuff like that,  then a farewell of a member that is going to live in Tennessee...

Changes

This week we received our changes and I am finally leaving my area to go to an area named La Libertad in Peten... So I am excited to go there and I am going to have a gringo companion named Elder Loveland... so that will be interesting... It will be my third companion that doesnt have spanish as a native language...  So that is pretty  interesting!  So I am super excited for that!  I have heard many good things about him.

But this week was kind of a bummer, but also super good... We didnt end up baptizing douglas, because on thursday he had a lot of doubts and he did have the desire to get baptized still but we told him that he couldnt... we felt that it would be better if he waited until he had a little bit stronger of a testimony... which was hard for me because that meant that I wasnt going to be there for his baptism...  But I did learn that it is best to do what is best for them and not for me, so Ill be excited to hear about his progress throughout the weeks that I wont be there, but he is going to get baptized in like 3 weeks...

But we had a pretty good week because one of our investigators, named Daniela, We had been teaching her for about 3 months back in like march, but then in late may early june, her dad called, who lives in a different part of Guatemala, and said that she couldnt listen to us anymore... so we stopped teaching her, because we didnt want her dad to get mad... But then a week ago she came to church out of the blue... so we were a little bit surprised by that, so we started to teach her again this past week and she is super excited to get baptized... she said that it doesnt matter what her dad says, that she knows this church is true and that she wants to follow god, not her dad... So that was super good and this week (yesterday) she came to church alone again, even though it was raining and she had to walk 10 minutes!  So that was super good, so my companion will be baptizing her this next 6 weeks!

So things are going pretty good over here!  I am a little bit sad to leave my area because I had some close relations with the people there, and so im going to miss them, but I am super excited for the next area!  I am happy to have a new start again, looking in new places for people to teach about the gospel!  So I am super excited for that!

Hasta pronto...

No just kiddding this one doesnt have any photos, but sorry for all the pictures but there were a lot this week...

Crazy week!

This week was pretty good!  First of all we were able to get 5 Investigators in church this week, and we are planning on a baptism for this saturday... but we will have to see how that all goes... because we are about 50 percent sure that he is going to get baptized... so we are hoping and praying a lot for that to happen!  And with another one of them we are waiting for his moms permission and he she gives it to him, he is going to get baptized this saturday also!  So we have got big plans for this week and we hope that all goes well, because this might be my last week here in this area!  I have like 6 months here, so they probably are going to take me out but Im not too sure...  So we are super excited to end this area good!

Also we had some other good things happen this week... And I have learned a lot this week about the importance of working diligently...  I has been a good week and we have worked so hard...   And one thing that I am proud about is that my companion always is saying that we work like dogs... that this 6 weeks together has flown by because we have worked so hard... so that was something that I was glad to hear...  He said that in his 16 months in the mission that he had never worked so hard!  So that was pretty great to hear! But it is a little sad for me to see... because I had worked so hard in this area, but we hardly had any success, and now that I am leaving all the success is coming... I was a little bit sad about that yesterday when I was thinking about this area... but then a realized, and learned a great lesson...  That yes the baptisms are important, but it is more important that we are focused on doing the work of our father, working with our all strength so that the work of the Lord can progress.  And that this really is the work of the Lord and that I am here for 2 years to help him out with this work! and that 2 years is such a short time of my life...  One of the Hermanas that is in my district is going home this next week and she shared her testimony in the district meeting and it was one of the most powerful testimonys that I have heard in my life... She literally dedicated every second of the 18 months that she was here to the lord.. She is one of the best missionarys that I have seen in my life... and she testified about the importance of this work and how we need to be dedicated to him every second of our lives and we will receive many blessings..

So this week was a pretty good week and I am super excited to keep on being a representative of Jesus Christ... It literally is one of the greatest blessings that we have in our life... That I am acutally a representative of him.. I am doing what he would be doing...  So yeah for those missionaries out there... remember that..

This morning we had a breakfast as a zone...  and well here are some pictures...

Here are some photos from killing the chicken...

Que onda!

Well first off I got stuck witha crappy keyboard, and Im sick of fixing the mistakes butthe space bar doesnt work to well so yeah you are going to have todeal with it...  Butthis week was a good week for us... we had a lot of success... With one of our investigators from a long time ago we finally were able to put a fecha for baptism with him... so he is going to be baptized next week so we are excited for that... also we were able to get 2 more investigators in church along with douglas(our fecha)  and all of them came on their own desire... so that was super great!  Also we were able to have a baptism for a kid in our ward that they invited us to go come to his baptism...and to helphim to be confirmed... so that was great...

Also we did divisions again this week and well I ended up going to the offices of the mission to workfor a day!  It was pretty fun, i was one of the finance elders... so I got to payfor some things and we went to the bank to take out money for all the missionaries and stuff like that for about 3 hours... then we went to work in the area of these elders... and that was a good experience... I learned a little bit more about the importance of the book of mormon... well my testimonywas already super strong about this... but it helped it out a little bit more... so that was a good experience...

But yeah not much else happened this week... so yeah other than about2 hours ago we killed a chicken and then ate it.. but i mean that was pretty interesting... but youll learn more about that with the pictures...

Love you all!
